Creating printer presets on macOS can save you time and effort by allowing you to quickly apply specific print settings without having to manually adjust them each time you print a document. This guide will also demonstrate how to add a department code.
Accessing Printer Options:
(For this guide, we will be changing the options within Chrome)
While Chrome is in focus - click "File" and select "Print..." on the drop-down menu.
A window will slide open showing a print preview. On the right-side, click on "More settings".
Scroll down (on the right side) until you see "Print using system dialog..."
A new window will appear with print options. Scroll down until you see "Printer Options" and click the arrow on the left-side to expand.
Click on "Print Mode"
A new window will appear - check the box next to "Department Code" and type in your 5-digit code in the text box.
Click "OK"
Scroll back up to the top of the print options window. Next to "Presets", click the drop down on the right.
Select "Save Current Settings as Preset..." The preset can be named anything.
Note: While printing to the Lower School Office printer that you will need to have your Department Code entered as a Preset.
